The announcement text: |
Working in partnership with London Underground to modernise the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines, our client is responsible for maintaining and upgrading track, trains, signals and stations. Over the next thirty years, massive investment will take place in this area : enabling them to deliver continuously improved passenger services.
Undertaking a wide range of surveying and engineering activities, you?ll play an important role in helping us to achieve our goals. This will involve carrying out and directing surveys of tracks, tunnels, earth structures and station premises, during which you?ll lead other staff as required. You?ll also be involved in maintaining and developing the database systems that store and assess the resultant data, as well as producing technical reports and demonstrating compliance to existing standards.
You must either be qualified to degree level with 2 years? relevant experience, or to HNC level with 5 : in both cases, it?s essential that you can demonstrate sound practical experience of modern survey methods and equipment in an underground railway environment. Computer literate and with a good working knowledge of CAD applications, in particular LisCAD and Microstation, you should be well accustomed to working unsociable hours, and have the physical fitness to work on the track and in tunnels.
